Polly Harris, recently namedVice President, Human Resources for Union Pacific,oversees a 250-member team supporting the railroad’s business objectives by driving human resources strategy and programs to attract, develop and retain top talent.Harris joined Union Pacificin 2006 as manager-Recruitment and held a variety of positions, including assistant vice president-Workforce Resources, general director-Diversity and Inclusion, HR Business Partner and director-HR for the Marketing and Sales, Finance, Law and Operating departments.Harris holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Iowaand received her MBA from the University of Phoenix. She completed the Advanced Human Resource Executive Program at the Michigan Ross School of Business in October 2021 and participated in McKinsey’s Black Leadership Academy in 2020-2021.Harris is the current president of UP Employee Resource Group LEAD –A Women’s Initiative andis a 2014 graduate of the railroad’s Leadership Development Program. Additionally, shecompletedOmaha’s D&I leadership training, LeadDIVERSITY. In the community, Harris is a member of The Wellbeing Partners board of directors and served several years with the Greater Omaha Chamber’s CODE (Commitment to Opportunity, Diversity and Equity) on itsadvisory council. She was a member of Together Inc. board of directors from 2018-2021.
