DESCRIPTION: This session explores how utilities are planning for metro growth, beginning with the macroeconomic challenges shaping their decisions and narrowing to system-specific issues. Panelists will discuss power generation and expansion, as well as sewer capacity and service delivery, from Omaha’s infill and redevelopment pressures to Sarpy County’s need to extend service to new areas. The conversation will also highlight collaboration on major infrastructure like the new wastewater treatment plant and examine where power and sewer planning align, and where differing growth strategies create challenges.
