Born and raised in Omaha, Tony Sorrentino earned his accounting degree and Juris Doctorate from Creighton University. He enjoyed a 45-year career providing accounting, legal, and employee benefits consulting services to hundreds of Nebraska businesses. For over 32 years at Silverstone Group, he served as General Counsel, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and President. He also held roles with Mutual of Omaha, Omaha National Bank, and Deloitte.

Tony currently serves as Nebraska State Senator for District 39, representing Elkhorn, Waterloo, and Western Douglas County. In the Legislature, he is a member of the Revenue Committee, Urban Affairs Committee, Vice Chair of the Nebraska Retirement Systems Committee, and Vice Chair of the Business and Labor Committee. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Creighton University and President/Founder of Health Plan Fiduciary Compliance, LLC, specializing in federal compliance for employer-sponsored health plans, Medicare, Medicaid, and medical malpractice.

He is Chairman of the Board for El Museo Latino and serves on the Board of Trustees for Doane University. He previously served on the Metro Community College Board of Directors (2009–2013).

Married since 1981 to his wife Kate, Tony and Kate have four children and multiple grandchildren. An avid long-distance runner, he has completed over 60 marathons and 300 half-marathons and volunteers as a coach for Creighton University’s Cross Country and Track & Field teams.

Tony is a CPA, attorney, Certified Employee Benefits Specialist, and Chartered Financial Consultant dedicated to improving Nebraska’s small business climate and tax environment.
